Our Chickens are 3 Weeks old!

I want to start by saying...

Chickens ROCK!!

I have been finding little earth snakes in our yard all spring, and I am absolutely and irrationally petrified of snakes!  Well, the other day, The Hubbs found a little bitty snake in our yard, and decided to see what the chickens would do with it.  Ha ha it was hilarious!!  The instant the snake went in, we had a mini circus going on in the chicken pen.  The chickens were cheeping wildly and chasing each other trying to get the snake.  They even played tug of war with the snake several times!  Finally Cleo, who just might be my new favorite, managed to swallow the entire snake!  It was greatness! I have a feeling there won't be many snakes in our yard for long!!  :0)  Here is a picture of Red and Blackie playing tug of war with the snake:

And here are the girls at 3 weeks:

Red:

She is starting to get her comb in!  

 Miss Cleo:

She is really starting to look like a big chicken now, and has most of her feathers in!

The Twins:

Flopsy and Mopsy have really grown this week!  They have gone from being the smallest of our flock, to the biggest!  They are really starting to turn a pretty caramel color too. 

Blackie:

I think Blackie will probably be our ring leader, even though she is the smallest of the girls right now!
